We were delighted to take part in Znanstveni piknik (Science Picnic) 2026., the largest science popularization event for children and young people in Croatia. The 15th edition of the Picnic was held on October 1st and 2nd, 2026, in the park of the Matija Gubec Elementary School in Gornja Stubica, Croatia.
The Picnic brought together more than a hundred educational teams from schools, kindergartens, associations, institutes, museums and universities from all over Croatia, as well as guests from Slovenia and Serbia, and we are proud to be among them.
At our exhibition, visitors could explore this year’s competitors, test their cloud identification skills with our cloud observation chart, and learn more about the GLOBE Program and NASA’s GLOBE Observer app.
What made us happiest was the curiosity of our youngest cloud hunters, who eagerly guessed cloud types and asked questions that sometimes even we couldn’t answer right away! Students of the Dubovac primary school, one of this year’s competitors, also visited the exhibition. They presented their work to other visitors, as well as showed them how to properly identify clouds!
In collaboration with the Institute of Physics, we also held a demonstration showing the power of air using an air cannon. The full video of the demostration can be found below!
