Implementation of Look Up-Cloud Hunters 2025

As part of several activities children were doing to mark the Earth Day, they also observed clouds. Among the first activities was a tabletop play about the Raindrop and the water cycle in nature, as well as the importance of water in general for the planet. The story involves evaporating water that eventually forms a cloud that travels around the Earth.

Children also learned about how clouds form and what are the differences. In subsequent activities, this cloud took children to the kindergarten yard and they tried to look for it. Children saw different clouds outside, spotted several short-lived and long-lived cloud contrails, spotted two aeroplanes as well and observed how clouds move around the sky if they watched long enough. They spotted most of the clouds in the distance and it seemed to them that they are almost coming out from house roofs.

Children used Cloud Observation Charts and small pictures of clouds to find and compare clouds in the pictures and charts with the ones they saw outside. Couple of children went through a mobile app Globe Observer with their Teacher and made some observations using the Clouds app. Other children just wanted to photograph the clouds and so they did. Inside, on rainy days children played Clouds memory game and paired different clouds to each other.

Activities occupied children’s attention and they still look up when playing outside to search for a cloud, or they lay on a blanket and just observe while resting in the grass.
