Implementation of the Look Up-Cloud Hunters 2025 Competition
First of all, I would like to highlight the situation at our school. Our school,
which was a primary school ((Lori Region v. Gugark ,Primary school , Armenia), participated in a competition last year. Since then, our school has changed its name and is now known as Secondary school of Gugark named after H. Shiraz , Lori Region.
After I introduced the project to the students, they showed great interest in it. Most of them wanted to participate, but only three students (aged 5–11) were selected. The students took part in the “Look Up – Cloud Hunters” competition. We used our mobile cameras to take photos of clouds. The children enthusiastically captured cloud images during the day, searching for interesting shapes in the sky.
The project was both educational and enjoyable. It was a great opportunity to explore the features of the mobile application GLOBE Observer by observing clouds and learning about atmospheric conditions. Through this, the children engaged with technology and discovered what it means to be citizen scientists. They focused their attention on nature, capturing images of clouds in the sky.
This activity encouraged the children to become more observant of their surroundings and helped raise their awareness of changes in nature and their effects on daily life.
It was a great pleasure to participate in this project.
